A WORD FROM OUR PRESIDENT:
As I sit in front of my computer to write my final President’s note, I find a lot of memories from the year coming back to me. I will be honest, there are good and bad. But the good far exceed the bad. Working at Mountainfest, our lunches after board meetings, the Craft Fair, our joint luncheon at Christmas with the ESC, the Silent Auction; I could go on and on.
Nothing comes close to the true friendships I have made through the OSC. I have learned that I have friends I can count on through thick and thin, who understand what it means to be an “Army Wife” and all that comes with it. This is something I will carry with me forever.
I have reinforced my belief that giving back to others is important. I am proud we were able to give so much this year to others. As an organization, we were able to give $13,000 to scholarships and welfare recipients. This is something to be proud of and I know in the future those numbers will increase as the OSC grows.
The Officers’ Spouses’ Club will be in wonderful hands. Paige has a great attitude; she is excited to be your new President and is ready to bring fresh ideas to this organization. I know the 2011-2012 year for the OSC will be very successful with her at the helm.
Thank you for allowing me to serve as your President this year.
Teri-Gene

And don’t forget…this month’s luncheon is at the fabulous and historic BLACK RIVER VALLEY CLUB! Additionally, we will be holding elections that day as well!
A WORD FROM OUR PRESIDENT:
It is now April and officially Spring. As this board’s time winds down, it is time to think of our board for the 2011-2012 year. Candidates will be presented at the April luncheon, so please be there if possible. It is also time for Scholarship and Welfare funds to be awarded. We will do this at our May luncheon as well as install our new board. So, save the date, Monday May 16th at the Commons.
Our April luncheon will be a little different. Due to several requests to move the luncheon because of Spring Break, we have made some adjustments. The luncheon is now on April 13th at the Black River Valley Club as the Commons was fully booked. The menu looks great and of course we will have our yearly Bingo with terrific prizes available. Check your evite for the full details. We hope to see you there in your favorite hat for our “Tea Party Bingo”.

We have a LOT of news this month so make sure you read this email and click all the links!
A WORD FROM OUR PRESIDENT:
Spring will be here soon, I promise. This has been a typical Northern NY winter and I for one will be happy to see the green grass and tulips soon.
Our Silent Auction in February was very successful. Not only that, but those who attended had a great time. Make sure to check out photos from the event! Thank you to Jodi Kemple and Kimberley Williams for the outstanding job they did on this event.
I would be remiss if I ignored the cancellation of the OSC/ESC Merger vote. As I stated in the letter to the OSC members, the process must be done correctly according to our constitution and by-laws. I want to thank you for your understanding and support in the decision that was made.
With Spring comes the time to think about our next board. If you would like more information on the positions, please get in touch with our Parliamentarian Jennifer Goubeaux. Being a part of the board is a rewarding experience, a chance to learn how an organization if run and a time you will never forget.
We are in the home stretch for the 2010-2011 OSC year. Our upcoming and final luncheons are going to be a LOT of fun! March is a Mardi Gras celebration, April will be a Southern Tea Party and of course our annual Scholarship luncheon in May. I am hoping you will be able to attend and enjoy the camaraderie that the OSC offers to us. Because as the saying goes, you can never have too many friends.

Pamela Oeschger (The Madison Gallery) has personally, beautifully handcrafted and donated two pieces of jewelry. One of the two showcase pieces will go to the top two of our General Membership volunteers with the most hours. To make sure you get in on this, make sure you register and keep your volunteer hours on the myarmyonesource.com website, search for volunteer opportunities with the Fort Drum Officers’ Spouses’ Club and make sure you mark your hours down to be certified. By doing this, you will put yourself in the running for one of these two prizes. PLEASE CLICK ON THE VOLUNTEER LINK for information on Volunteer Opportunities! The latest events we need help with? QUILT RAFFLE sales and the OSC CRAFT FAIR!
