Officers’ Spouses’ Club at Fort Drum E-Newsletter — NOVEMBER EDITION

What a wonderful, thought-provoking and very positive October Luncheon.  Thank-you to our 2nd Vice President for organizing a year of luncheons with such dynamic themes!  This month’s luncheon “What are You Thanksful For?”  is coming up quickly it is this Wedensday, November 10th!  Make sure you RSVP to the E-vite!  NOVEMBER LUNCHEON INFORMATION

A WORD FROM OUR PRESIDENT:

This is a busy time here at Ft. Drum.  We have troops returning while we send off our Division Headquarters and Combat Aviation Brigade to Afghanistan.  And of course the holidays are right around the corner.  We all have so many things to be thankful for even though sometimes we are so busy that we forget to remember what is good in our lives.  I know that I am lucky to have a wonderful family, a job I love and so many good friends, many I have met through the OSC.  Please take a few minutes around our Thanksgiving holiday to remind yourself about the blessings in your life.

The 20th Annual Craft & Antique Fair  is coming up on Saturday, November 13th, 10am-4pm.  We have some wonderful vendors lined up, many are new to our Craft Fair.  If you are able to volunteer, please let our Volunteer Coordinator, Kimberley, know by emailing her from this website under the “board” tab.

We will be joining the Enlisted Spouses Club in hosting A Holiday Tour of Homes on Fort Drum.  The event is scheduled for Sunday, December 12th from 12pm-5pm.  We will add more information to our website as soon as details are finalized, but save this date.  We will be visiting 8 homes that day.  We will start at The Timbers and end at LeRay Mansion.  We will visit homes in Rhicard Hills, the USO and homes on LeRay Drive.  Please plan on joining us for the afternoon.

I wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving and a safe holiday.

QUILT RAFFLE — Check out the fabulous QUILT that the Going to Pieces Quilt Guild has donated to the OSC! We will be selling tickets at our next Luncheon and during the OSC Craft Fair in November right before the BIG DRAWING!!!  Remember, you got to be IN IT to WIN IT!

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!!!   – This year is already shaping up to be a great OSC year. Many activities and events are in the works, though without the support of our precious volunteers it couldn’t happen. With that being said we also want to thank our volunteers for all they do. To thank our volunteers we will be presenting the top two General Membership Volunteer with the most hours contributed to the Officers’ Spouses’ Club with a gift. Pamela Oeschger (The Madison Gallery) has personally, beautifully handcrafted and donated two pieces of jewelry. One of the two showcase pieces will go to the top two of our General Membership volunteers with the most hours. To make sure you get in on this, make sure you register and keep your volunteer hours on the myarmyonesource.com website, search for volunteer opportunities with the Fort Drum Officers’ Spouses’ Club and make sure you mark your hours down to be certified. By doing this, you will put yourself in the running for one of these two prizes.    PLEASE CLICK ON THE VOLUNTEER LINK for information on Volunteer Opportunities!  The latest events we need help with?  QUILT RAFFLE sales, the OSC CRAFT FAIR and upcoming TOUR OF HOMES!
